XChat Release Date 2026

XChat was originally scheduled to launch worldwide on the Apple App Store on April 17, 2026, but X later pushed the official release date to April 23. If you have already pre-ordered it, you should receive the download automatically once it goes live.

The delay is not especially surprising. Launching a large messaging product is a high-pressure moment, and a major outage or security flaw on day one would create a brutal PR problem. Giving the team a few more days for final testing is a conservative but sensible move. Early TestFlight users have already spent some time with the app, and the broad signal so far is that the core product works. The delay looks more like a launch-strategy call than evidence of a broken app.

The initial rollout is still limited to iPhone and iPad devices running iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 and later. There is still no official schedule for Android or the web.
