XChat iPad Support

Yes. XChat supports iPad as well as iPhone, as long as the device is running iPadOS 26.0 or later, and the app appears to be optimized for larger screens.

For people who do serious messaging on an iPad, that is potentially useful. A larger display should make multitasking easier, such as reading a document on one side and chatting on the other. What we do not yet know is whether the iPad version includes truly tablet-specific features like a better split-view layout, or whether it is mostly a scaled-up iPhone UI, which is what many apps ship first.

If the iPad is your main device, it is worth watching early user feedback after release to see how polished the adaptation actually is.
